Sarah Stegner

Sarah Stegner is co-chef/owner of Prairie Grass Cafe in Northbrook, IL. She was an executive chef at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Chicago for many years. Stegner won many accolades, including Rising Star Chef of the Year award from the James Beard Foundation (1994); Robert Mondavi Culinary Award Of Excellence (1995); and in 1996, 1997, and 1998 she was nominated for Best Chef: Midwest by the James Beard Foundation, winning the prestigious award in 1998. She helped form Chicago’s Green City Market, a weekly venue for Midwest sustainable farmers, and continues to serve on its board of directors.
