Sarah Alter

Sarah Alter is a national thought leader and role model in the workplace, serving for six years as the CEO of NextUp, the largest network of executive women in the country. In her time as CEO, NextUp grew to over 18,000 members, including half of Fortune 500 companies. The mission of NextUp is to create leadership opportunities, amplify women’s voices in the workplace, and ensure that all women in business can seize opportunities in the now and in the next.

Alter’s career includes over 25 years in leadership roles transforming Fortune 500 organizations by building and rebuilding company growth strategies as well as brand and customer experience journeys. Her experience includes executive roles at Staples, Discover, and General Growth Properties.

Alter is a graduate of Northwestern University and Harvard Business School. She has been appointed to serve three terms on the Illinois State Lottery Advisory Board.
