Matthew Montgomery, Ph.D.‘s career in education began as a high school science teacher in Canfield, Ohio. He later served as principal at Waterloo Middle and High Schools, and in 2013, he became the Superintendent of Waterloo Local School District, emphasizing STEM education. In 2015, he moved to Revere Local School District, implementing strategic plans, community initiatives, and overseeing major capital projects. In 2021, he assumed leadership roles in Lake Forest School Districts 67 and 115 in Illinois, focusing on strategic development and a major funding referendum.
A proponent of lifelong learning, Dr. Montgomery is also the Lead Superintendent for Cohort and Partner Connections with the School Superintendents Association (AASA), co-chairs the AASA STEM Leadership Consortium, and imparted his knowledge as a past instructor at the graduate level at the American College of Education.
