Dr. Matthew Pietrafetta
Preparing for Success on the SAT
Sponsored by the Glenbard Parent Series.
Matthew Pietrafetta, Ph.D., of Academic Approach comes to GPS to educate parents and caregivers about the construct of SAT test. The focus of the presentation will be on the April SAT offered to all juniors at the Glenbard High Schools, concentrating on the content of the exam, strategy, and when and how to prepare. However, all parents with students preparing to take the SAT in the Spring will find benefit in this presentation. Participants will have standardized testing myths busted and the opportunity to have their questions answered and engage in challenging (and fun!) quizzes.
Matthew Pietrafetta founded Academic Approach in 2001 and currently serves as the chief executive officer. Since 2001, Matthew has supervised the organization’s instructional services, curriculum, and technology development.
Matthew earned his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in English language and literature at Columbia University in New York City. After teaching in Columbia’s Core Curriculum and preparing New York City high school students for college entrance exams, Matthew worked to define a model of test preparation based less on strategy and more on skills-development to prepare students for academic success both on and beyond the test.
This event is free to all and will be presented virtually. The link will be posted here when available to log in to this webinar from your computer, tablet or phone.
