Evanston Art Center Press Release: Jack Austin | Spiritual Journey
The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to welcome the public to our upcoming exhibition, Jack Austin | Spiritual Journey. The exhibition will be on display from March 8 – April 13, 2025, and will be free and open to the public.
Jack Austin is a multi-disciplinary creative who explores humanity, consciousness, and natural beauty through photography, poetry, and music. His work reflects on loss, what it means to be alive, and the search for purpose. In the series Spiritual Journey, Austin employs photography, layering multiple exposures and varied tone and color saturations to show a single, pivotal moment through multiple perspectives.
In all of the images, a hand reaches forward, searching for something; perhaps nourishment of the soul, human touch, or the horizon. For some, the path is more clear, and for others, more foggy. For Austin, reaching into the unknown is an act of courage, an act of faith, and a wellspring of achievement.
